Duncan has over 20 years' experience in economics and public policy, and plays a key role in the firm's labour market economics work.
Duncan has a considerable track record of economic forecasting. He has played a key role in developing the evidence base for the London Plan (and its review) and the case for investment in London in the run up to the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review. He has considerable experience of labour market research, especially around the issue of worklessness.
Since joining RTP, his experience has included evaluations of the Local Employment and Training Framework (LETF) in East London, West London Working, the City Strategy Pathfinder in West London and four Business Finance Projects in London, an appraisal of policy options to boost employer investment in training for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, analysis of future job prospects in Essex and Somerset, and analysing the London economy.
Duncan joined our London office in May 2009. He was previously Deputy Chief Economist at GLA Economics and has also worked for HM Treasury and the New Zealand Department of Labour. He holds a BA in economics from Cambridge University and an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics.
