Greater Essex Sub-Area Study
Core to the study is an examination of the practical implications and viability of the latest levels of housing growth recommended by the National Housing and Population Advisory Unit. These levels of growth for the East of England imply between 14% and 54% increase in housing provision for the region. The study, through a detailed exploration of the evidence base and a series of stakeholder events across the sub-region, will test the physical implications of these bookends; and highlight sustainability, transport and wider infrastructure issues informing any future implementation.
The work commences in earnest in September 2008, with final reporting in December to fit in with EERA deadlines for the Regional Spatial Strategy inputs. Its success relies on continued and dedicated input from a large consultancy team, steering groups and stakeholders.
