Planning and development economics survey
December 2009
Roger Tym & Partners has been commissioned by leading planning and property bodies to assess the training requirements of planners and councillors. The project is in response to widespread concern at delays in implementing major projects and the relatively poor level of understanding of some professional planners and councillors about development economics and viability. Its purpose is to ascertain from those working in the planning system their understanding and competency in development economics, what training they have previously received and what additional training they would find useful.
As part of the study, RTP is conducting a survey of planners and councillors. The team hopes to consult as many people as possible, from a wide cross-section of the sector.
