May 2010
Roger Tym & Partners has helped developer Pendleridge and joint
venture partner, McLaren Construction, secure planning permission for
the regeneration of Octagon Court in High Wycombe town centre. The development will see part of the former Octagon Court demolished and rebuilt; the old empty offices giving way to a new 120 bed hotel. Pendleridge Managing Director, Derek Lum, said, “this will form the next phase in the regeneration of the centre of High Wycombe.”
Travelodge will operate the hotel and construction work will commence in June 2010, with completion due in spring 2011. The hotel development is expected to create 38 jobs.
The first stage of the development will also incorporate new office space and ground floor retail. Renewable energy systems are to be incorporated where possible. Work has commenced on the outline designs and viability assessment for the second stage of the development.
