RTP to provide evidence base for Rutland LDF
October 2009
The work will provide a sound evidence base for the development of appropriate policies in the Council’s LDF and Supplementary Planning Document. RTP will review case law, current policies and retail, commercial and leisure town centre uses, and will assess future need and capacity. The work will enable the formulation of a deliverable retail strategy that meets the requirements of PPS6, and a robust developer contributions policy supported by sensible infrastructure costing mechanisms that consider realistic development viability.
RTP has a track record of work in Rutland, and was appointed because of its expertise in planning for retailing and town centres, plus rural planning experience and an innovative approach to viability modelling. The work is due to be completed by late Autumn 2009.
