Supporting employment growth
Roger Tym & Partners has been appointed by the Exeter and Heart of Devon Employment and Skills Board to identify labour requirements and training needs to support key developments in the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point area. These developments include a new science park, an expanded airport, a new town and urban extensions, an employment site of regional significance, a combined heat and power plant and an inter-modal freight depot.
The study will provide an assessment of the different job and career opportunities arising from key Exeter and East Devon Growth Point developments, and the skills and qualifications required by investors and employers to 2026. RTP will provide practical recommendations for education and skills training programmes to help secure business investment, to support business growth and to generate local employment opportunities for all residents.
The report, which is due to be completed by September 2010, will be used by the Employment and Skills Board for influencing policy, actions and investment in training programmes and related activities.
