Planning to deliver sustainable and viable growth
Roger Tym & Partners has a strong track record in carrying out Growth Area Studies.
We identify how the growth targets for an area – such as those in the Regional Spatial Strategy – can best be accommodated over the plan period. We assess:
- opportunities for additional sustainable growth
- constraints, such as planning, environmental, employment and infrastructure, and
- mitigation measures, such as new infrastructure
Strategic spatial implications are assessed, resulting in a series of integrated transport, housing, employment and infrastructure solutions; all of which meet broad sustainability objectives. We provide both explicit policy advice and practical guidance on delivery. We advise on the acceptability of different forecast levels of housing for particular sub-areas.
Each growth area study is different, and reflects the unique characteristics both of its geography and its stakeholder composition. We work hard, both independently and with the client, to genuinely contribute to local planning and deliverability documents.
