Roger Tym & Partners is a market leader in the preparation of strategic housing land availability assessments (SHLAAs).
SHLAAs play a key role in the preparation of Local Development Frameworks and spatial strategies. They provide a robust and credible evidence base in identifying the land that is available in order to meet housing targets. The outputs are also used for annual monitoring.
We have undertaken numerous SHLAAs across the country, using our own model and associated databases that we tailor to a client's particular needs. We evaluate the potential of housing sites against more detailed criteria, informing site allocation DPDs.
We have a unique approach to assessing the suitability, availability and achievability of sites which may have potential for sustainable residential use. Our approach is underpinned by our in-house ‘sites database', supported by our powerful geographic information system.
Our database is inherently flexible for whichever method of scoring / ranking / prioritisation is desired. It facilitates the assessment of sites against pre-agreed set of criteria, linked to current national and local policy objectives.
