Economics For Development + policy and project
evaluation
We evaluate public policies and projects to establish how well
objectives are being, or have been, achieved and to determine the
public sector’s value for money.
Evaluation takes place during a policy or project’s delivery
with the aim of improving effectiveness and value for money, and
after an initiative has finished, to learn lessons, disseminate
best practice, and inform future policy.
Examples of our evaluation work are:
the Urban Development Corporations; the Enterprise Zones; the
South of Scotland Objective 2 Programme; the Edinburgh Holyrood
and Exchange Urban Regeneration projects, and numerous SRB rounds
for local partnerships; and a wide range of local, publicly funded
projects across the UK.
Evaluation of Holyrood and The Exchange Urban Regeneration Projects -
Evaluation of 2 flagship urban regeneration projects in Edinburgh.
Sunderland SRB Evaluation - Mid-term evaluation of Sunderland’s local regeneration programme, focusing on measures to
reduce unemployment by helping local people access the new jobs being created.
Final Evaluation of the Greater Deepdale SRB3 Programme, Preston -
The primary purpose of the study was to objectively assess the performance of the Programme
and the impact achieved in Greater Deepdale.
