Our Core Business
Roger Tym & Partners operate in three core areas as follows:
- Planning and Development
- Economics and Development including Regeneration
- Feasibility Studies, Project Appraisal and Evaluation
Wider Product Areas
Within our core areas of 'Planning', 'Economics and Regeneration' and 'Appraisal
and Evaluation' we provide a wide range of services. We operate as the lead firm
on major multi-disciplinary studies where project management and clear direction
of other disciplines is a key requirement. We also operate simply as a specialist
firm providing inputs regarding a particular sector such as retailing or a specialist
input such as employment projections feeding into transport studies. Our Team
members have extensive experience in giving evidence at public inquiries for
appeals and development plans, at examinations in public, and at community consultation
meetings. We work to tight deadlines, and are used to liaising with clients and
other professionals to achieve high quality solutions to planning, economic and
social problems.
Our Clients
Our client base is broadly based. We work extensively for both public and private sector clients including the following range of organisations:
- Central Government - DCLG, DEFRA, DfT, the Scottish Government, the Welsh
Assembly and the Departments of Environment in both the Republic of Ireland and
Northern Ireland.
- Regional Planning Bodies.
- Regional Development Agencies.
- County Councils, Unitary Authorities and District Councils.
- UDCs and URCs.
- Local and Sub Regional Partnerships.
In the private sector we work for developers, utility companies, institutions, landowners, and retailers. In most instances our role for the private sector is to coordinate a consultancy team, to co-ordinate or input to an Environmental Impact Statement, to obtain planning permission, or to prepare a specialist report to support the case for a development or planning permission. We also work as sub-consultants to other firms leading a large project team. Most usually we work with transport planners and engineers.
