Planning for Development + Policy advice
and formulation
We advise central on the formulation of planning, regeneration
and economic development policy and are assisting a number of local
authorities with policy formulation and drafting in preparing their
Local Development Frameworks and Area Action Plans under the 2004
Act .
Examples of recent policy studies for Government include:
changes to the Use Classes Order; the delivery of the growth
areas strategies in the South East; the planning implications of
the Gambling Bill; and Article 14 directions.
Examples of recent planning policy work for local authorities
include:
the preparation of the Area Action Plans for Hull City Centre and
Bridlington – both which include the drafting of policy to
put in place the masterplans for the regeneration of these areas;
housing policy advice in Northumberland and Tees Valley; Supplementary
Planning Guidance in Middlesbrough; and Planning Policy in the Belfast
Metropolitan Area Plan.
Thames Gateway -
Research relating to the review of RPG9 to provide advice for the Government on taking forward
the Thames Gateway.
Planning Implications of the Gambling Bill -
Research examining the relationship between the relaxation of gambling controls upon the
operation of the Use Classes Order.
West Midlands Regional Centres - Research to inform the revised RSS which identifies the strategic centres across the region where
major new retail, leisure and office investment should be focused.
