Bernard is a chartered town planner with over 13 years' of wide-ranging experience in both urban and rural locations. His particular interests lie in urban regeneration, sustainability and place shaping. He also holds a degree in architecture.

Bernard's track record includes major multi-disciplinary regeneration initiatives in Liverpool, Hinckley, Hull, Bridlington and Leicester and the provision of planning policy advice to high-profile private sector clients, including Wilson Bowden, Story Land, Bloor Homes, Bellway, Keyworker Homes, Next and the Co-operative Group. He works with the firm's public and private sector clients to formulate and submit successful planning applications for schemes ranging in size and complexity from small developments to large, mixed-use redevelopment schemes.

Particular expertise includes the development of regeneration strategies and implementation plans; retail, housing and town centre policy; and the application of policy to the benefit of our clients. Bernard has a sound understanding of the technology available to the modern planner - he played a key role in developing the firm's SHLAA database and its Site Assessment Matrix and uses our GIS resource to the full.

Bernard is also an expert witness and has appeared at both Inquiries and DPD Examination Hearings, most of which have resulted in successful outcomes for our clients.
